(EN) Obesity is spreading all over the world. UK is trying to understand what are the causes of this epidemic, funding a project that transformed 38 science reviewes in an interactive diagram with 108 variables to understand the wide range of different factors that influence levels of obesity.
“Behind the simple result of people becoming heavier, lies a complex web of often reinforcing causal factors that range from individual psychology and physiology to the culture and economics of food production, food consumption, attitudes toward physical activity, and structure of the built environment.”

(IT) L’obesità si sta diffondendo in tutto il mondo. In UK stanno cercando di capire come affrontare il problema finanziando un progetto che ha portato alla realizzazione di una mappa interattiva che permette di esplorare i 108 fattori diversi che causano l’obesità individuati da 38 studi scientifici.
“Dietro il semplice risultato che vede le persone diventare più pesanti, si nasconde una rete complessa di fattori che si rinforzano l’un l’altro e che partono dalla psicologia e fisiologia individuale sino ad arrivare alla cultura e all’economia della produzione del cibo, del suo consumo, dell’approccio all’attività fisica e alla struttura dell’ambiente costruito”
