(EN) Clean coal debate is getting hot especially because Al Gore and Obama this time are not on the same side.  Nowadays the fuel provides half of U.S. electricity but also 30 percent of the greenhouse-gas emissions that contribute to global warming.  Coal-power lobby is very powerful in Washington and they decided to invest $300 million over 3 years to convince the population that Clean Coal Technology is going to solve  the environmental impact problems of coal (did you know that 1 gram of mercury can pollute and entire lake and coal plants in USA produce 50 tons every year?). I already showed you a campaign trying to fight this gigantic propaganda and now  it’s time for a new one called: The dirty lie. It’s new retro style! (EN) Boing Boing has just published a series of posts titled  Climatic Heresy in which the guest editor (Charles Platt) comments  a bunch of books denying or putting doubts on the reality of global warming. One of these contains a map ( based on CHristopher Horner book) called Climate Change Policy Funding Fear through which he wants to show which interests (money) are involved in promoting the fear of climate change. I’m fed up about these climate skeptics or wanna-be-balanced commenters (and im surprised BB gives so much space to him, who also defended WalMart!!) because time to discuss is over, it’s time to act or we are done. Energy consumption is a hot topic and recently EU announced that is going to ban the use of traditional light bulbs as around 85 percent of household lights are considered to use too much electricity. Compact florescent lights (CFL) can save up to 80% of it! (IT) Mi piacciono i tipi di CommonCraft che armati di forbici, carta, pennarello e chiarezza di mente rendono semplice capire una serie di questioni che riguardano la vita contemporanea. Il consumo di energia è un argomento caldo e proprio recentemente l’Unione Europea ha annunciato che presto bandirà l’utilizzo delle lampadine tradizionali visto che è stato calcolato che l’85% dell’illuminazione casalinga consuma troppa elettricità. Le lampadine CFL fanno risparmiare energia fino all’80%.
