(EN) Scientist at Met Office in UK  have conducted a series of ‘what if’ climate projections to give a better understanding of the temperature rises we could expect if action on reducing greenhouse gas emissions is slow or delayed. The worst part of the report is that risks of dangerous climate change will not increase slowly as greenhouse gases increase. Clean coal is a dirty lie/Il carbone pulito è una sporca bugia

(EN) Clean coal debate is getting hot especially because Al Gore and Obama this time are not on the same side.  Nowadays the fuel provides half of U.S. electricity but also 30 percent of the greenhouse-gas emissions that contribute to global warming.  Coal-power lobby is very powerful in Washington and they decided to invest $300 million over 3 years to convince the population that Clean Coal Technology is going to solve  the environmental impact problems of coal (did you know that 1 gram of mercury can pollute and entire lake and coal plants in USA produce 50 tons every year?). I already showed you a campaign trying to fight this gigantic propaganda and now  it’s time for a new one called: The dirty lie. It’s new retro style! Fear Network / Il network della paura

(EN) Boing Boing has just published a series of posts titled  Climatic Heresy in which the guest editor (Charles Platt) comments  a bunch of books denying or putting doubts on the reality of global warming. One of these contains a map ( based on CHristopher Horner book) called Climate Change Policy Funding Fear through which he wants to show which interests (money) are involved in promoting the fear of climate change. I’m fed up about these climate skeptics or wanna-be-balanced commenters (and im surprised BB gives so much space to him, who also defended WalMart!!) because time to discuss is over, it’s time to act or we are done. (EN) Alternative energy solutions are not enough to fight global warming. We need a toolbox of tools and regulations. Look at the video to be introduced to the big problems humanity has to face and get ready to dig a little deeper into the issue that will change our lives and explained after the video. The authors of the  campaign are part of Noe21 that defines itself as a “capacity and action center promoting solutions to global climate change with a non-dogmatic approach”.
